Editorial Policies

Any manuscript submitted to FUAMJPAS must neither be under consideration, either in part or in full nor published by any other journal. However, articles already presented elsewhere as conference abstracts may be submitted for consideration.

Peer Review Policies

Members of the editorial board is responsible for the reviewing procedure. They are required to invite competent and independent reviewers, within two weeks of receipt of the manuscripts. They are to provide report on the review carried out on each manuscript, which will form the basis of the decision of our editorial board. The reports will be sent to the authors together with the decision of the board as soon as the decision has been reached.

Names of Reviewers for FUAMJPAS are open to only the Editorial Board Members (EBM). Authors may suggest up to 3 names of reviewers with expertise in their subject area. The authors shall provide institution address, area of specialisation and email address of each suggested reviewer. The first decision on a manuscript will be made within 4 to 6 weeks.

Research Data Policy

A submission to the journal implies that materials described in the manuscripts, including all relevant raw data, will be freely available to any researcher wishing to use them for non-commercial purposes, without breaching participant’s confidentiality or copy right.

The journal strongly encourages that all datasets forming the conclusion(s) of the paper be available to readers.

Copyright policy

The copyright to the article will be transferred to FUAMJPAS once the article has been accepted for publication in FUAMJPAS. This covers the exclusive right to reproduce and distribute the article, including reprints, translations, photocopies, reproductions in; microform, electronic form (offline, online) or any other reproductions of similar nature.

Compliance with Ethical Standards

For the purpose of objectivity and transparency in research and to ensure that accepted principles of ethical and professional conduct have been followed, authors should include information regarding sources of funding, potential conflicts of interest (financial or non-financial), informed consent if the research involved human participants, and a statement on welfare of animal if the research involved animals.

Authors should include information on the following (if applicable) in a separate section entitled “Compliance with Ethical Standards” when submitting a paper:

  • Disclosure of potentials conflicts of interest
  • Research involving human participants and/or animals
  • Ethical Responsibilities of Authors

    FUAMJPAS is committed to upholding the integrity of the scientific record. Hence, it will adopt the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines on how to handle potential acts of misconduct.

    Authors should refrain from misrepresenting research results which could damage the trust in the journal, the professionalism of scientific authorship, and ultimately the entire scientific endeavour. Maintaining integrity of the research and its presentation can be achieved by following the rules of good scientific practice which include:

    • The manuscript has not been submitted to more than one journal for simultaneous consideration.
    • The manuscript has not been published previously (partly or in full), unless the new work concerns an expansion of previous work (please provide transparency on the re-use of material to avoid the hint of text-recycling (self-plagiarism)).
    • A single study is not split up into several parts to increase the number of submissions and submitted to various journals or to one journal over time (e.g “salami-publishing”).
    • No data have been fabricated or manipulated (including images) to support your conclusions.
    • No data, text, or theories by others are presented as if they were the author’s own (plagiarism). Proper acknowledgement to other works must be given (this includes material that is closely copied (near verbatim), summarised and/or paraphrased), quotation marks are used for verbatim copying of material, and permissions are secured for material that is copyrighted.The Editors have the right to reject manuscripts that do not comply with the specified guidelines. The author will be held liable for false information or failure to fulfil the journal guidelines.
    • Important Note: FUAMJPAS may subject all articles to plagiarism check.
